Then when it was time to learn about composting, he was right up there with Natalie and the rest. They looked at some things that had already been decaying - a banana peel, egg shells and an apple core- then got to help Miss Beth by addding trimmings from a celery stalk and some more egg shells.
While they had a cookie snack with a bottle of water, Miss Beth read another story.
Natalie helped Harvey decorate the recycled water bottle container. They got some soil and wheat berry seeds to plant. At home, they can watch them sprout and even give them a haircut when the grass gets tall.
We had our picnic lunch at Essex Park.
Notice Harvey's naked graham cracker. After the 1st time spreading frosting and licking it off the cracker, he decided to by pass that step and go straight from knife to mouth. Repeatedly!! He loves his sweets!
Natalie went the traditional route.
Then it was off to the playground.
And a parting shot of their projects. Harvey indicating his with his prize from the park.
