Where the Marsh Marigolds grow

Yes, there were small clumps of marsh marigold foliage but it was too early for any blossoms. It's usually a little later that we take the Oxbow walk to see them scattered in golden clumps along the streambeds that meander down the slopes fed by springs. The woods looked pretty brown at first glance but there are plenty of early wildflowers just starting to peek thru the old leaf cover. Hepatica are blooming and we saw buds on Dutchmen's Breeches, Bloodroot, Cut-leaf Toothwort and Anemone. Look at these two hikers holding up the sign! The green grass in the background is about as much color as we saw.
Here's how to make a S'more when there's a burning ban. Spread a little frosting on a graham cracker. Add the chocolate squares.......

Add some frosting glue, a slice of apple and a little more frosting......

Top with another cracker and there you have the S'more without a campfire!

A perfect sight to end a perfect day - tree silhouettes looking out our kitchen window.

Oxbow does look pretty bleak. Maybe Jill and I will be available to go if you go back a little later.
I guess those kind of S'mores make sniffing glue okay! Looks pretty tasty.

I'm not sure about the apple on there! That's a new one to me.
