November vacation - Lake Superior

Yes, those are golf clubs for 3 in there. We did get in 11+ holes on a closed course until they told us we could be there but we'd have to stay off the tees and greens. Pretty pointless in more ways than one so we called it a day. For Nov 4, the weather couldn't have been nicer. Must have been 70 degrees and it left us wishing we'd brought shorts!
Natalie hung with the baby bears above the fireplace and Laur and Jill's low maintenance pets snuggled in with the ducks that are residents there. Day one was the best of 2 sunrises we got to enjoy.

Here's where the mystery meals were presented - Jill's sausage and egg bake, Laur's BBQ'd ribs and my beef pot pies.

Lucky me! I got the loft bedroom. It's huge and looks out over the rest of the cabin and the Lake. There is a spiral staircase leading to it. My fabric for a quilt I worked on is hanging over the railing. I was cutting out pine tree shapes that will become a quilt called Raggety Trees".

The Tregurtha coming through the Duluth Canal .

One of the 32 ships that Laur so faithfully logged as we saw them either heading toward or leaving Duluth/Superior.

Stoney Point, just a short walk from the cabin. It's here that conditions are right for surfers which we have seen in January. It takes some pretty good waves like these or better.
Next visit January, 2009. Who's ready to go?

I think we'll just start leaving things packed from vacation to vacation since they're coming around so fast!
Very high on my Friday list is to get my blog entry in...especially since it doesn't look to be outside chore weather. Merry Christmas!
