Thick fog wrapped the valley a couple weeks ago when I went out very early to beat the heat doing the 2nd of 3 annual passes to clean up our designated stretch of roadside. People have been pretty respectful this summer. There were only 2 bags, each less than full, but someone picked a steep ditch by the river to throw maybe 20 old tires - some had already ended up in the river. The rest we dragged to the shoulder of the road for the County crew to pick up. Before they came by, someone had added an old microwave to the pile. I guess that's better than pitching it where it becomes a trash nuisance.

Ordinarily obscure, spider webs heavy with dew showed up in abundance in the ditch grasses.

If you know burdocks here you can see the green stage of those prickley hooked brown seeds that stick to your clothing in the fall. I have never noticed
their beautiful blossom. I'll try to picture this as I pull clumps of them out of my boot laces!

One of a collection of hollyhocks growing in a corner by the barn. Obvioiusly taken later in the day when the fog had burned off.
